4 Ways To Soothe Dry Winter Skin

It happens every year – brutal winter weather whips around your skin until it’s raw and dry. Chilling winds, low temperatures, and indoor heating – if your skin isn’t fully irritated by winter conditions, it’s at the very least in a bad mood. To combat the dreaded dry face, we’ve got four ways to soothe your winter skin, restore moisture, and protect it from further damage:

1. Use a humidifier

Forced-air heaters blast the moisture out of skin during winter-time, stripping important oils and often resulting in itchy skin. Try counteracting these drying effects by blowing a warm- or cool-mist humidifier. Re-introducing moisture into the air helps soothe and calm irritated skin. (Health)

2. Step up with your moisturizer

Is the moisturizer in your winter skin care routine cutting it? We recommend our Arctic Berry Peptide Radiance Cream – great for all skin types and specially formulated to reduce the appearance of skin irritation and inflammation.

3. Eat more healthy fats

Fight winter skin symptoms from the inside – fill up on foods rich in healthy fats. Fatty acids like omega-3s help create your skin’s oil barrier and protect against moisture loss. Chow down on flax, safflower oil, and nuts as well as fish like salmon and sardines. (webMD)

4. Try a chamomile toner

Treat your battered skin to our Soothing Chamomile Tonique. Spritz on this toner after a masque or anytime on its own to relieve irritated winter skin.
