5 Dos And Don’ts For Sensitive Skin

Sensitive Skin-01

Do you suffer from sensitive skin? If you want to turn your “ouch” into “ahh”, you need a sensitive skin care routine customized for your delicate complexion. Follow these dos and don’ts for a quick guide to nurture your reactive skin:

DON’T…

Overclean. Dermatologists advise that you use gentle cleansers without strong detergents or fragrances to wash your face (WebMD). We recommend our Calm Skin Chamomile Cleanser which removes impurities without irritation or inflammation.

DON’T…

Overexfoliate. Instead of using a harsh facial scrub, one alternative is manual exfoliation. Take a dry face cloth (it must be dry, not wet!) and gently rub the surface of your skin for a mild exfoliating action. Another option is using the Rosehip & Maize Exfoliating Masque on a weekly basis. The maize flower exfoliates gently while the honey and zinc oxide ingredients soothe and calm the skin.

DO…

Use lukewarm water to wash. Hot water can be drying and harsh on the skin. Cold water, on the other hand, can cause broken capillaries. It’s best to avoid extremes in temperature and stick to tepid water for your skin care needs (Daily Mail).

DO…

Protect and moisturize your skin. Our Couperose-C Serum heals and calms inflamed skin while the Rosehip Whip Moisturizer is a great choice for soothing sensitive and reactive skin.

DO…

Treat your skin to a weekly masque. Our Calm Skin Arnica Masque detoxifies skin but also reduces the appearance of inflammation and the diminishes the look of redness on your complexion. Hear about the benefits of this masque straight from the pros – watch Victoria’s Secret model Lindsay Ellingson spotlight the product in this Allure magazine video.
