Fall Make-up TIPS from:

Fall is bursting at the seams this year with fun new makeup trends. From colorful cat eyes to wine lips, the makeup this season is anything but boring. Here are a few of the fall runway trends that you can recreate in a wearable way (and not a smoky eye in the bunch!).

1. Wine lips

One of the most wearable trends for fall 2013 is wine lips. From Vera Wang to Fendi this trend was one of the most noticeable of all makeup trends at fashion week. If you are someone who loves to accentuate your lips you may choose to stick with the bolder version. You can create a deep matte wine lip by first lining and filling in your lips using the Terra Cotta Lip Definer, then applying NEW Hannah PureMoist Lipstick.

WINE LIPSIf you are looking for a sheerer version of the wine lip try applying NEW Mary Lipstick.

4. Bold lips

The bold lip trend was around for spring and it isn’t going anywhere this fall. When creating this look be sure to keep your eyes a more neutral color. Sticking with soft colors like Champagne Silk Eye Gloss, the Daytime Eye Shadow KitgoWarm Eye Steppes orSweet Spot Eye Shadow Triple, will help keep the focus on your lips even if you are more conservative with your lip color choices. The great thing about lip stick is that you can take one from a sheerer splash of color to a deep pop of color by just adding a Lip Definer.

Here is a list of some of our favorite “splash of color” Lipsticks and the Lip Definer you can pair with them for a more bold pop of color look.

Lucy: A creamy matte, pink peony lipstick. Pair with Pink Lip Definer for a bold pink lip.

Hannah: A creamy matte, brown plum lipstick. Pair with Terra Cotta Lip Definer for a deep wine lip.

Annette: A creamy matte, red grape lipstick. Pair with Plum Lip Definer for a deep purple/red lip.

Margi: A creamy matte, true red lipstick. Pair with Crimson Lip Definer for a bright red lip.

Melody: A creamy pale, peach lipstick. Pair with Peach Lip Definer for a tangerine lip.

Lauren: A creamy matte, copper lipstick. Pair with Sienna for a copper penny lip.

3. The colorful cat eye

Colorful cat eyeFrom Jason Wu to Christian Dior we saw this bright colored cat eye all over the runway at fashion week. Bold and daring, it brings a fun jolt of color to a fall outfit in more muted shades. This cat eye is achieved by choosing a bright colored liner and applying a thick line to your top lashes, extending to the middle of your eyelid or up to your crease, and then outward slightly to create a winged cat eye. As fun as this look is for the runway, it isn’t as practical for the office. Try this modification for a softer but still on-trend look:

soft cat eyeStart by applying Allure Eye Shadow to your eyelid using the Deluxe Shader Brush. ApplyDawn Eye Shadow in your crease using the Crease Brush. Line your top lash line withAquamarine Mystikol using the Angle Definer Brush and slightly extend the line outward to make a winged cat eye. Apply PureLash Extender & Conditioner to your lashes followed by Black Ice Longest Lash Mascara.

You are still getting a bold shot of color on your eyes and working the colorful cat eye trend, but you are doing so in a much softer, sophisticated way that is appropriate for both day and night.

4. Orange Shimmer Eyes

orange shimmer eyeshadowNeutral makeup was a huge trend for spring, but designers like BCBG and Givenchy took it up a notch for fall with orange shimmer eye shadow at the forefront for fall 2013. While shades of orange and red are beautiful for popping blue and green eyes, the bold look of orange eye shadow may be a little much for your everyday look. Here’s an easy alternative:

Rose gold eyesTry applying Rose Gold Eye Shadow to your eyelid and crease using the Deluxe Shader Brush. Line your top lash line with the Black/Brown Eye Pencil and finish with PureLash Extender & Conditioner followed by Espresso Longest Lash Mascara. This soft alternative still offers a bit of shimmer and is a lovely color choice for blue and green eyes.

5. Beautiful Skin

Beautiful soft skin is always in, no matter what the season. However, this change in season often brings colder temperatures, dryer skin and the desire for a little more coverage. No worries, we have the answer! If you’re not using it already, Smooth Affair Facial Primer is a lovely addition to your skin care and makeup routine in the cooler months. This primer has anti-aging properties that even skin tone, minimize pores, increase luminosity and moisturize; it can also help to keep your makeup lasting longer. Follow your Smooth Affair Application with Glow Time Full Coverage BB Cream. Glow Time covers blemishes, minimizes pores, disguises wrinkles and smooths and brightens skin. A little goes a very long way so start with a pea size amount and add more if you need it. It delivers that luminous-matte finish that is so big this fall.
