Let’s talk about all things pregnancy, skincare, and spa. Going beyond back pain, sciatica, swollen ankles, and crazy cravings…

We know that pregnancy hormones can do a number on even the most glowing complexions, resulting in dehydrated, darkened hyper-pigmentation, breakouts, and sensitivity, but when it comes to pregnancy-safe & effective skincare products there aren’t that many choices. So, we created them!

We wanted to share with you some of our Vegan, Organic, Natural & Effective Skin & Body Care products along with our favorite services that are good for both mommas-to-be, new moms and for the beautiful babies to be. Then it hit us! You don’t want to hear from us, you want to hear direct recommendations from five pregnant and new moms to get a fresh outlook on what are the skin and body’s must-have products & services for 2020/2021.

Remember to always consult with your doctor or OB before using any product or trying recommendations from our fellow moms.

With five pregnant mamma’s working at The Green Spa in 2020, we sure do know a thing or two about what is really needed during pregnancy, especially during this climate. All of whom are amazing women who have dedicated their careers to helping others feel, look, and become better. They are either Massage Therapists, Estheticians, or a part of our marketing team. You might say, we were asked to put our money where our mouth was as we have all been recommending products and services to pregnant women over the past 23+years. Now we had six of our own teammates all pregnant during this quite unique year of 2020, with all of its challenges…

The Top 5 Pregnancy Tips From Our Amazing Team of Experts

So, Here is what they had to say:

Stacey Lee, one of our Medical Massage Therapy Specialists – During her pregnancy, one of her most important concerns has been her skin. For those of you who know her, she is a tattoo lover. And stretch marks could change the landscape of her beautiful art worked belly. So she uses @LegendofTheSpa Radiation Recovery cream, originally formulated to protect skin while going through radiation and chemotherapy when the skin is at the height of sensitivity and at it weakest… many time tearing and cracking. This luxurious cream is infused with loving Reiki Infused Crystals and nourishes the most sensitive and supports elasticity while skin is stretching. It’s great for all over the body and the scent is calming during times of anxiety. “And because we make it, we KNOW what’s in it,” says Lee. We can even use it in your next pre or postnatal massage. Just ask.

Tiffany, our lead Licensed Esthetician, Brow & Lash Designer, Waxer, Threader, Facial Specialist, had her organic skincare routine done and done. Unfortunately, her pregnancy was anything but easy and she found herself in tremendous unbearable pain, leading her to spend time in and out of the hospital with only pain killers to help curb the pain. Throughout all of her suffering, her go-to was Massage Therapy. Stretching and hydrating her skin with Organic, Natural, and Vegan products… many of which she had a hand in creating.

Emily is a Reiki Master Licensed Massage Therapist who is currently at home caring for her little one and we cannot wait to have her back! As a Pre-Natal Massage Therapist and Reiki Master, trained at The Green Spa, Emily used the skills she learned to share energy with our guests as well as the little one growing in her belly. Emily had really bad nausea throughout her pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, and Reiki was one of the things that helped settle her stomach. The art of Reiki, or energy work, is very powerful and can be profound for self-care, helping to shift the energy around the body. Energy work can be used to help with gas pain, constipation, or even anxieties that have been through the roof this year. She also shared that regular prenatal massage “saved” her in the second and third trimesters.

Natalie, one of our Licensed Massage Therapists, is caring for her little one, who was born in March. She used both Acupuncture and Massage Therapy to help her with morning sickness as well as body aches and pains. She says, “I feel it made my pregnancy so much healthier and allowed me to enjoy the entire experience. Prenatal Massage was my absolute favorite. I loved the belly focus too, which was a new experience for me”. Each day Natalie used belly oil to keep her skin hydrated and smooth. She loves the Apricot Body Oil… which is organic, natural, and vegan, of course.

Kristi is our Marketing Manager and is about to give birth. She has been seeing Dr. Mary Hughes Johnson, our in-house Pelvic Floor PT Specialist. She has had treatments in her second and now the third trimester and they have helped her in many ways. She too has had medical challenges and a bumpy experience (pun totally intended!) She will be sharing details of what to expect with your first Pelvic Floor PT Specialist visit throughout the different trimesters and how it helped her in great detail. Look out for it! In the meantime, check out Kristi’s latest blog, “Is Getting A Pre-Natal Massage during Covid-19 Safe?”, where she shares all about what to expect when booking a massage during this time.

If you feel your body changing rapidly and want to schedule some self-care, book an appointment today or order those products that can help alleviate the challenges your body and skin is experiencing. Everything is energy and when you feel well, the baby senses it too.

Lastly, did you know we offer mindful practices on Zoom such as Journaling to work through stress, anxiety, and create goals for your family? Most importantly, know it is not only “ok” to care for yourself, mentally and physically during and after your pregnancy – it’s mandatory for a healthy experience and connection with your blossoming family. Self-care practices and services is not a “Treat”, they are important treatments that will help you and, in turn, the people around you.

We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. During this time especially, soothe your body and your mind and expect good things while your expecting – it’s the law of attraction at work.

If you have any questions, check out our Zoom link in bio for an online Zoom private consultation- no questions are silly. We ship our products anywhere in the US and we can create a care package for you or a loved one even from afar. From our small business team to your beautiful budding family, we love you. #GreenSpaCares about your whole life.
